All-Star Sports Training realizes the potential safety hazards of intense training programs and sport itself. Our initial evaluation session is designed to find biomechanical flaws, muscle imbalances, joint instabilities and faulty movement patterns. This allows our performance specialist to design a training protocol to correct each imperfection. When an athlete has finished our program, they can return to sport stronger, with less risk of injury.
Results
Increase Maximum Sprint Speed
Athletes will reach optimal speed by increasing the two components of speed: stride length and stride frequency. Stride length increases through improvements in strength and flexibility; stride frequency increases by the selective recruitment of neuromuscular pathways.
Lactate is a bi-product of your body’s energy systems. When lactate accumulates in the muscles and blood, it causes fatigue and reduces athletic performance. By increasing lactate tolerance and lactate clearance capacity, athletes gain the ability to maintain maximum speed for a longer duration or for repeated bouts without decreasing speed. Recovery times have been noted to be reduced by as much as 50 percent!!!
Improve Sprinting Biomechanics
Incline running on the treadmill allows specific development of the key factors associated with acceleration, optimizing both the training effect and the training area. Forward acceleration can only be developed from a certain point in your stride to toe off. That's why incline capabilities help each athlete learn and maintain knee drive, proper pelvic and trunk position, and forceful contraction of the lower extremity, optimal stride length and properly coordinated upper extremity movement. Our high-speed treadmill also allows for specific neuromuscular recruitment and synaptic response.
All of our programs include a personalized strength program. This will supplement and accelerate the gains in speed and explosiveness of each athlete. Working directly with our specialists, athletes will learn the correct technique of many exercises they will be sure encounter further into their athletic career. Proper strength development, along with nutritional coaching will furthermore assist in the prevention of injury and increased performance.
Increase Agility / Explosiveness
It is very rare in sports to run in a straight line with no change in direction. This is why our programs also focus on agility and explosiveness, allowing athletes to maintain speed as they cut or change direction and explode out of a start or walk/jog.
There is an increasing trend of inflexibility among youth and ACL injuries in female athletes. This is why all athletes will be taught the importance of proper stretching through dynamic warm-up and cool-down exercises, along with static stretching. Athletes will also go through balance training; not only will this transfer to better play on the field, but it also teaches the muscles of the hip, knee, and ankle to stabilize their respective joints, even when fatigued.
