Leon Bright

Running backs, receivers and kick return coach

Leon proves to be an excellent asset to All-Star Sports Football working in the capacity of running backs, receivers and kick return coach. He has had an extremely successful football carrier and currently is the head coach for the Daytona Beach Thunder (WIFL). A native of Merrit Island, he was one of Florida’s top high school running backs, amassing 75 touchdowns in 3 seasons. He also was awarded 3 All-State and 2 All-American honors. Leon furthered his career at Florida State University, where he still holds the record for longest kickoff return (100-yards, 1974).

In 1977, Leon went to play in the Canadian Football League for the British Columbia Lions. He led his team in receiving yards and ran back a 100-yard kickoff. Leon was named Rookie of The Year and a member of the CFL All-Star Team. In 1981 he joined the New York Giants, where he spent 3 years before moving to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the final 2 years of his illustrious career. Leon was voted into the CFL Hall of Fame as a member of their “Dream Team”.
